Carroll County Takes Local Immigration Reform Action

MARYLAND: Carroll County tells vendors to comply with immigration laws

WESTMINSTER (— The Carroll County commissioners are requiring that businesses that supply goods and services to the county government comply with federal immigration laws.

Failure to comply could result in termination of their contracts.  County Attorney Kim Millender says if a county agency is notified of possible noncompliance, the agency would have to investigate the situation.  Commissioner Michael Zimmer says the resolution is an incentive for vendors who don't win county contracts to monitor their competitor's business practices.
